I have a weird relationship with my hair. I think that it’s one of my best features, yet I don’t spend enough time and energy taking care of it. After years of neglect from applying too much heat to my hair, going too long without getting a trim, and a little too much dry shampoo – my hair was starting to feel pretty brittle.

I knew something had to be done if I wanted to keep my hair soft and shiny. I came to the conclusion that I had to start using a treatment for my hair in order to bring it back to health, but I didn’t really know where to start. It seems like a new hair conditioner, mask and/or oil is launching every other week.

I recently found out that L’Oréal® Paris Elvive has a hair quiz for this very dilemma. My curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to give it a whirl.

After a few quick minutes, I found out that I’m a level 2-3 on the damage scale – which honestly wasn’t as bad as I thought. I recently switched hair tools to decrease the damage done to my hair, and I think that’s really starting to pay off!

After finding out that I’m a level 2-3 on the damage scale, they recommended that I try the Elvive Extraordinary Oil Treatment and the Protein Recharge.

They challenged me to reveal my “proof in one use” and I was honestly beside myself. I knew that my hair needed help, but I didn’t know it needed it that badly.

I really like the Extraordinary Oil Treatment because it’s lightweight and very effective. Just a little bit goes a long way, so I know I’m going to be using this guy for a while. I will admit that I tend to stay away from hair oils to avoid a potentially greasy look – but this oil does a really good job of sinking into your hair without looking greasy. It also doesn’t have a tacky consistency, it feels nice and dry to the touch.

The Protein Recharge is AMAZING for when your hair is feeling a little brittle. Not only does it smell great, but it instantly pumps in moisture when your hair feels vulnerable. I like to apply this leave-in treatment for a few minutes, then work out any knots and kinks with a wide detangling comb. I make sure to use the Protein Recharge at least once a week in order to keep my hair in tip top shape.

You too can find out what’s right for your hair type by going to your nearest CVS where you can participate in their hands-on, in-store peel and reveal event on 3/8 through 3/11. A beauty consultant will be present for all questions and assistance. The event will be showcasing large scale reveals of before and after images of damaged to healthy hair results after using L’Oréal Paris Elvive hair products.

And finally, for the “proof in one use” challenge? As you can see in the first few shots, I left one side “as is” and I used my treatments on the styled side. The styled side is shiny and bouncy, while the side that was left untouched is dry and brittle. Scroll down and check out the last set of photos for the finished look. What do you guys think, crazy right?!

Leave me a comment by letting me know if you plan on going to your nearest CVS to see what the right haircare treatment is for you. I’m excited to hear about your results!

    xo,

    Lily
